Acer has announced some awesome laptops and desktops, but perhaps most surprising is the Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Editiona laptop for demanding gamers, but which brings the novelty of a stereoscopic 3D screen.

Until now, SpacialLabs equipment was aimed at creators and engineers. The arrival of a gaming laptop shows a major shift in brand stance and may signal a step closer to maturity for these devices.

Therefore, in Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition, the laptop reads 3D information directly from the games and creates the effect on the screen, allowing the panel itself to generate the 3D effects through lenticular lenses combined with eye tracking of the user. There is a downside, of course, in which the brand itself has to create 3D profiles for each game, it’s not enough for us to start running one to see the full potential of this display. Here, to reassure us, Acer tells us that we will have more than 50 games already supported when the Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition reach the market.

On the hardware side, we have a 15.6″ 2K panel, with the particularity that if we use 3D mode the resolution is reduced by half because every two pixels, one will be directed towards an eye, the other towards the ‘other.

The Intel Core i9-12900H is the maximum option we can pick, with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB of DDR5 4800 RAM, and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage in a RAID 0 configuration. sacrifices to offer an absolutely unique display solution on the market. In fact, the Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition is a beast of a gaming laptop no matter what angle you look at it.

But if you need something more standard (and cheap), Acer has also announced a family update. Triton 300 SE Predatorupdating the 14-inch model and introducing a new 16-inch model.

In its 14″ version, the Acer Predator Triton 300 SEit’s also a great laptop for gamers, built around an Intel Core i9-12900H and RTX 3060 pair, 32GB of LPDDR5 5200 RAM and 1TB of SSD storage.

It also offers an FHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate, or a QHD+ with the same refresh rate, and a 2.8K (2880×1800) model. In both cases, we have a ratio of 16:10.

However, the 16-inch model even offers an Intel Core i7-12700H with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. In terms of storage and memory, the characteristics of the 14″ model are retained, with a maximum of 32 GB of LPDDR5 4800 and up to 2 TB of SSD in RAID 0. On board is a 99.98 Wh battery, higher than the 76 Wh available. on the 142 model.

On the screen, Acer allows us to choose between two IPS, one with FHD with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, and the other with QHD with a refresh rate of 240 Hz.

Still in gaming, new monitors have also been announced Acer Predator XB273K LV and Acer Nitro XV272U VR. These two monitors have very different characteristics. On the one hand, the Acer Predator XB273K LV features 27″ with 4K resolution and 160Hz, plus 0.5ms response. It also has Delta<1 and HDR600, which makes it very reasonable for work where color accuracy is essential. HDMI 2.1 lets you connect consoles, and a 65W USB-C port lets you power peripherals.

O Acer Nitro XV272U RV, however, is a more discreet monitor, with a 2K resolution for its 27″, it offers a base refresh rate of 144Hz and a response time of 1ms. It’s also a Delta<1 panel, with DisplayHDR400 and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

New SpatialLabs stereoscopic monitors

O Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition is not the only device with a stereoscopic 3D screen launched by Acer. There are also new monitor models, with the new View from Acer SpatialLabs for personal users and Acer SpatialLabs View Pro for commercial users. There is still the SpatialLabs TrueGame for gamers.

As no case Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Editionusers of SpatialLabs TrueGame they must first run the TrueGame application where they choose the game they want to play, letting the application do the rest regarding the creation of the 3D graphics, this because effectively each game will have its own 3D profile without which it will only be able to to work in 2D.
