Apple just released new iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 updates today. These two updates are the most recent of the iOS and iPadOS operating systems that have been released, and the company’s focus will already be on iOS 16, the next operating system that is expected to be presented at the WWDC 2022.
This update should be the last “big” update of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, before the launch of the next versions of the operating system, which should hit the market during the month of September, in same time as the launch of the new iPhone, as already mentioned have become commonplace in recent years. iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 arrive just over two months after the release of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4.
iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 updates can be obtained for free, and the software is available on all eligible devices live in the Settings area.
To download new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Compared to previous iOS 15 updates, iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 are smaller. There are updates to the Apple Cash card in the Wallet app and a new setting that allows Podcast users to limit the number of episodes stored on their devices.

tvOS 15.5, macOS 12.4 and watchOS 8.6
As for tvOS 15.5, Apple doesn’t specify what’s been changed, so we’re guessing it just fixes a few bugs and improves operating system performance for Apple TV users. The update is now available for Apple TV HD (4th generation) and later.
For macOS 12.4, Apple Podcasts includes a new setting to limit episodes stored on your Mac and automatically delete older ones, as well as support for Studio Display firmware update 15.5, available as a separate update , fine-tunes camera tuning, including improved noise reduction, contrast, and framing.
As for watchOS 8.6, the update enables the ECG app and irregular rhythm notifications for Apple Watch users in Mexico. With the ECG app, users can take an electrocardiogram directly from the wrist. There is also a reference to “Bug fixes and improvements”. watchOS 8.6 is available for Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
