Sofia Noronha, from the production company Sagesse Productions, confirms that the filming of the last film in the “Velocidade Furiosa” series is planned in the north, center and in Lisbon, “for a few good weeks”, involving many municipalities and the presence in Portugal of a team which will number 600 to 700 people, including Portuguese and foreign professionals.
On Thursday, Jornal do Centro reported that the region of Viseu, namely the former IP5, will be the scene of a shooting of this feature film, while the mayor of Vila Real, Rui Santos, has publicly stated that the city will host a Hollywood production. related to “broadband”, between June and July.

“Fast X”, the tenth film in the successful “Fast and Furious” series, is directed by Frenchman Louis Leterrier, who has directed, among other things, “Masters of Illusion” and “The Incredible Hulk”. Initially, the director of “Fast X” was Justin Lin, who eventually quit directing the film, but remained committed to the project.
With a screenplay by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau, the film has, among others, Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Michelle Rodriguez and Portuguese Daniela Melchior, and filming is taking place in the UK, Italy and in Portugal. . .
According to the American publication The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s budget has already exceeded 300 million dollars (about 284 million euros), a figure that does not include ‘marketing’ and publicity expenses.

Sagesse Productions was created in 2020 in the midst of a pandemic, “at such an uncertain time,” Sofia Noronha said, but with back-to-back work since then.
In addition to “Fast X”, the production company participated, for example, in the filming of “House of the Dragon”, the prequel to the TV series “Game of Thrones”, partially shot in 2021 at Monsanto, and whose premieres on August 22 on the HBO MAX streaming platform.

Another of the productions in which she participates is the film “Nobody’s Heart”, by the Spanish director Isabel Coixet, whose pre-production will begin in August in Portugal.
For Sofia Noronha, the creation of tax incentives by the government in 2018 is one of the reasons for the presence of more foreign productions like “Fast X” in Portugal.
“The film industry is used to these incentives and all our competitors and neighbors have tax incentives, because normally the investment made in the country is almost double this tax incentive, the country always ends up benefiting from it”, a- he declared.
According to the latest report on incentives for film and audiovisual production and international filming and filming, covering 2018-2020 and posted online, the production of 48 works was supported, with a total incentive of 15.3 million. euros, and global investment in Portugal was 58.7 million euros.
