Marvel Explains the Difference Between Timeline and Reality in the MCU

We are entering a phase of Marvel productions where many different and more complex concepts are introduced to the public, such as the multiverse, timelines, realms, dimensions, etc.

These notions are often more simplified so that the general public can understand more easily and not have to do a lot of research before watching a movie to have fun and pass the time.

But productions like Loki, Spider-Man no coming home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness addressed these different concepts directly and many people may have been confused by the difference between different realities/universes and different timelines.

But Richie Palmer, a producer at Marvel Studios, came out in an interview with Marvel.com to try to shed some light on these concepts within the MCU. He starts talking about the end of LokiWhen sylvia kill the remaining one:

“By then, the multiverse has expanded endlessly into the future, into the past, sideways, left and right, into alternate realities that we can’t even comprehend. If it wasn’t for Sylvie, we wouldn’t be here right now.”

The producer continued on the distinction between alternate timelines and alternate universes:

“There is a slight difference between alternate timelines and alternate realities, but they intersect and end up being one and the same. Our characters couldn’t interact with them, certainly not like they did in Spider-Man: No Return Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

From what we have been able to understand, different timelines are born from different universes, however, with everything “out of control”, universes and timelines can intersect and become one.

And what was your interpretation of the producer’s response? Stay tuned here at Marvel’s Legacy so as not to miss any news!
