Teachers in Curitiba start getting flu shots this Wednesday; Thursday is the turn of drivers and collectors

From this Wednesday (18/05), the flu vaccination campaign will be extended to a new priority audience: teachers and staff in public and private basic and higher education.

The service for this public will be from Monday to Friday, in 97 health facilities, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Addresses can be found on the Imuniza Já website.

To receive the vaccine, it will be necessary to present a document with photo and CPF, proof of residence in Curitiba, if not yet registered at the health unit, in addition to a document proving work in an educational institution, such as a badge, pay check or a statement signed by the responsible person.

drivers and collectors
On Thursday (19/5), teams of vaccinators from the Municipal Health Service (SMS) will carry out the planned vaccination for drivers and collectors. This public will be vaccinated directly at the workplace.

Health care workers
Health workers have been vaccinated since the start of the campaign in their own workplaces, in the case of hospitals and health units in the municipality.

For self-employed healthcare workers, vaccination is available until June 3, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Paraná Regional Nursing Council (Rua Professor João Argemiro Loyola, 74, Seminary) .

As part of the national flu vaccination campaign, the staff of care and surveillance spaces and establishments come under this group: doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, biologists, biomedical doctors, pharmacists, dentists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers workers, physical education professionals, veterinarians and their respective technicians and assistants.

Professionals who work from home, such as caregivers of the elderly and doulas (midwives) can also be vaccinated. Support staff (receptionists, administrative, security, cleaning, cooks and assistants, paramedics) of the health services can also receive the vaccinator, provided they have a professional link with an establishment in the health area.

To be vaccinated, you must present an identity document proving the link with the health service of the capital or a professional card and proof of residence in Curitiba.

Other audiences
In addition to new recruits, the units continue to serve the public already summoned and who have not yet sought to be vaccinated: people with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, postpartum women (mothers who have had children up to to 45 days), children aged 6 months and under 5 years (4 years, 11 months and 29 days), people aged 60 or over, workers in the security and rescue forces and the armed forces (police federal, military, civilian and road); military and civilian firefighters and municipal guards). These audiences are part of the priority groups defined by the Ministry of Health.

children and elderly
In the case of the elderly, in addition to the flu vaccine, the fourth dose (second booster) of the covid vaccine is also offered. And in the case of children, simultaneous vaccination with the triple viral vaccine (VTV) is offered, which protects against mumps, rubella and measles.

The VTV will be applied even to children who are up to date with their vaccination status, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, after verifying that measles has returned to an increase in cases in the country. In Curitiba, there is no trace of the disease this year, but with the movement of people to other cities, the disease can arrive and spread if there is not a large vaccination movement.

In the case of children who have already received at least one dose of influenza vaccine in previous years, the vaccination schedule will be with a single dose against influenza. For children who will be vaccinated for the first time, the guidance is that the second dose should be applied 30 days after the first.
