A Apple released the final version of iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 for owners of iPhone this Monday (16). The update comes after four betas and a Release Candidate update, released last week.
The update is smaller in terms of innovation, more oriented towards satisfying the wishes of program developers and adjusting the system for future improvements. macOS 12.4 has also been released for Apple laptop and desktop users.
As usual, the Cupertino giant is gradually releasing access to the update, so it may take a few hours before your device is notified. This may be the last version of the system until the iOS 16 preview arrives.

Weather app settings
iOS 15.5 added a “Report a problem” button at the bottom of the Weather app. The idea is to get feedback from the user when they find something wrong, like bad weather, location failures, and other tweaks.
Apple podcast
Apple Podcasts has included a new setting to limit the episodes stored on your iPhone and automatically delete older ones. This feature should help optimize space on phones, as podcasts can take up a lot of space in device memory.
Photosensitive locations
Apple has added a list of “sensitive locations” to the Photos app to prevent photos taken at these locations from being tagged in the Memories feature. These are the regions:
- Yad Vashem Memorial;
- Dachau Concentration Camp;
- American Holocaust Museum;
- Majdanek concentration camp;
- Holocaust Memorial in Berlin;
- Schindler’s Factory;
- Belzec extermination camp;
- House of Anne Frank
- Sobibor extermination camp;
- Treblinka extermination camp;
- Chelmno-Kulmhof extermination camp;
- Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp
It is not yet clear at the moment, but it is possible that the application will allow the user to define this concept in the future. In this case, you can delete photos taken in a place where an accident, a negative event or anything else that brings the bad feeling to the person has happened.
apple money

Apple Pay Cash comes with two new buttons for requesting and sending money. The objective is to make the system more versatile in order to reduce the reliance on third-party applications to perform this type of sending.
Additionally, iTunes Pass, available in the Wallet app, is now called “Apple Account Card.” The functionality should not change, so if you buy an Apple Gift Card or add money to your Apple ID, the balance can be used to buy products from the Apple Store, as well as apps, music , movies and subscriptions.
API for Apple Music and Apple Classical

Also new is the reintegration of the Apple Music API, which will allow developers to adjust the pacing and playback speeds of songs in third-party apps. This feature was removed due to security disputes, but now returns with the promise of making Apple’s system more user-friendly for musicians and dancers.
Apple Classical, a music streaming release aimed at classical music lovers, has several releases in the beta, but it’s not expected to arrive now. Ever since Primphonic was purchased in 2021, fans of the genre have been waiting for the introduction of classical music into Apple’s product roster.

Despite this, the Apple Music app contains references to excite fans of the genre. At least three elements in the source code (see above) suggest that the classical music program could be coming to the iPhone soon.
What’s New in MacOS 12.4
The main visible change of macOS 12.4 is the release of the stable version of Universal Control. The software has been in beta for a few months and it’s finally coming permanently, but nothing new.
As the name suggests, Universal Control lets you use a single keyboard, mouse, or trackpad to move your cursor, type, and even copy content between devices. Each device has its own screen and apps, but you can control them without having to pair different accessories.
macOS Monterey 12.4 also added a new memorial wallpaper and a feature that lets you limit the episodes stored in Apple Podcasts. The system also supports Studio Display firmware update 15.5.
This lack of news is not surprising, given that Apple is focused on updating the next versions of its operating systems. With WWDC drawing closer, the Cupertino giant should be in the final stages of tweaking to release the first beta of iOS 16 and macOS 13 on June 6, 2022.
