Why didn’t we get a fight between Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch in the new movie?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness finally opened in theaters and is jam-packed with action from start to finish, barely letting the viewer breathe without already stepping into a magical new fight sequence.

The film, as explosive in action as it is, has divided many people’s opinions on aspects such as the script and how the film seems to be “too fast”, things that bother some people.

But expectations are also a factor that ended up influencing people’s opinions of the film. The various rumors and theories about the movie and its events ended up shaping the idea of what the movie would be like in people’s minds, and the opposite that happens generates disappointment.

Many expected a great action scene between the strange doctor and the scarlet witch at some point in the film. In some scenes, this clash almost happens, specifically in the Kamar-Taj fight, but nothing that big happens at any point, and there’s a reason for that.

You have to look into the film’s narrative. In doing so, we realized that the reason there isn’t a direct fight between the two characters is that Doctor Strange doesn’t want to fight Scarlet Witch.

Firstly he knows that the Scarlet Witch is corrupted by the Darkhold and a physical fight wouldn’t solve anything, moreover he also knows that he would hardly be able to stop the witch who was full of power and blinded by her goals and its corruption. .

Note that when Strange attacks, it is with the intention of scattering Wanda, or protecting America Chávez. Throughout the film, they enter the journey to find the Book of Vishanti and begin to flee from Wanda who pursues them, after all a fight wouldn’t solve it.

Doctor Tin ultimately wants to end the Darkhold’s corruption in the Scarlet Witch, save America Chavez and Wanda herself from the evil influences of the Diabolical Book. His intentions, at no time, are to fight the Scarlet Witch.
